NEW: President Trump gives update on National Guard member Andrew Wolfe, shares a conversation he had with his mother.

The comments come after West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey revealed that Wolfe gave a thumbs up and wiggled his toes.

“He’s fighting very hard. I think he’s probably doing better than anybody. And they said he didn’t have a chance,” Trump said.

“The one who said he’s going to live is his mother. I spoke to his mother.”

“’Sir, he’s going to be okay. I’m telling you.’ No doctor thought that. Nobody thought that. He was hit in bad places, and she was like so positive. It was incredible.”
