Local residents Perry Lewis and Lerrssy Frausto acted quickly, rescuing the baby girl, found face down in the trash.
“She saved herself with her cries. Her God-given voice carried 40, 50 feet to my neighbor,” Lewis said.
The infant was taken to a hospital and is reported to be safe and in good health, per CBS Austin.
