Candon Dahle, a 22-year-old former Brigham Young University baseball player, has been sentenced following allegations of sexually assaulting a girl over a five-year period, beginning when she was seven years old. The victim, now 15, reported that the abuse occurred from ages seven to 12.

In her statement, the victim detailed the trauma, saying, “My earliest memory of the abuse was at seven, though I believe it started earlier. Almost every time we were together, Candon touched me inappropriately under my clothes.” She described enduring significant pain and fear, including an instance at age 11 when Dahle allegedly covered her mouth to prevent nearby family members from hearing. The victim also shared the emotional toll, stating, “You forced me to keep your secret for seven years. I sat through your baseball games, watching the world cheer for you, while I screamed inside knowing the truth.”

Dahle was sentenced in an Idaho court to 180 days in county jail, eight years of probation, a $2,600 fine, and 200 hours of community service. Under the terms of a plea deal, he is not required to register as a sex offender.
